Cape Canopy Tours has partnered with Cape Nature for their newest adventure based at Hottentots Holland Nature reserve in the Elgin Valley. The Lion Roars team was lucky enough to experience the official launch day which kicked off with delicious muffins and coffee at Cape Canopy’s Sunbird Cafe.
There was an air of excitement and anticipation as most of us (Raymond, the adrenalin junkie, excluded) were nervous about what lay ahead. Once we were all kitted up and the safety talks were done, we were transported up the mountain in a 4x4. For some, this proved to be more scary than the zip slides.
The slides were fantastic, a combination of adrenalin, gorgeous scenery and shrieks of joy, especially from Maryka who was exceptionally joyful.
Platform number 13 marked the end of the sliding adventure and the beginning a kilometer hike back up the mountain where the 4x4 was waiting to take us back to the Sunbird Café where we enjoyed canapés and refreshments. It truly was a day filled with fun. This Cape Canopy Tour is sure to keep both nature and adventure enthusiasts coming back for more.
What a winning combination!
