We have designed a selection of packaged tours to offer you the very
best of the Cape and to share our love for this spectacular part of the
world. While wine will always feature in these tours, all of them
provide a balance by visiting other places of interest and incorporating local attractions as well.
The duration of the tours range from 3 to about 10 days.
But as always, we are open to suggestions. You can request a similar
type of tour for fewer days. Should you not require 4 or 5-star
accommodation as indicated per each individual tour, you can request
less costly accommodation which may assist with budgeting for your trip.
LIFESTYLE TOURS, PRE-DESIGNED & PERSONALISED DAY TRIPS
A day trip can last the whole day, or just a morning or afternoon, with or without lunch. If you are really pressed for time, we can treat you to a short excursion in two or three hours – and your guide can drop you at the airport. It’s your call. Simply contact us with your schedule and preferences and leave the rest to us.
PRE-DESIGNED DAY TRIPS
To make things a little easier, we have compiled 7 day trips – one for each day of the week – to introduce visitors to some of the Cape’s best loved and well-known wineries, and some hidden gems off the beaten path. Just pick the day that suits you. Tours start from around 8 am and return by 6 pm. Our guide will meet you anywhere in the Cape Town city bowl (as far as Camps Bay) or Winelands and drop you off at your next stop-over in the city or Winelands. You are welcome to choose two (or more) days, or, if you’d like to sleep over in the Winelands, have a look at the accommodation listed. Each of these establishments come with our personal recommendation.

 Diemersfontein Country Estate
A scenic drive to the picturesque valley of Wellington awaits us next.
A taste of place tour of Wellington includes such delights as dried fruit; leather; cheeses; mohair products and many other epicurean delights – if we are there on the right day, you may have the opportunity of seeing these craftsmen at work.
We stop off in a beautiful valley at the foot of the Bain’s KloofPass, where we visit a leather shop and a boutique winery, Nabygelegen, for a tasting.
This is followed by a tasting and lunch at Season’s – the restaurant at the Diemersfontein Country and Wine Estate (lunch for own account).
After lunch we pop in for a tasting of dried fruit and then visit a bakery-cum-wine estate where the owner is renowned for his fruit cakes matured in this Shiraz cellar.
Back to Diemersfontein for the night.
Own arrangements for dinner.
 Pontac Manor
Day 2 - Paarl
Breakfast served by the doting staff. We then bid them farewell and continue our travails through the Winelands.
We stop off at Foxenburg, where owners meet us for a tasting of goatsmilk cheese; oyster mushrooms; olives and olive oil.The internationally-acclaimed Boland Kelder in Northern Paarl takes pride of place as first wine stop of the day where we visit their underground cellar for a tasting.
We climb back into our trusty transport and wind our way further down this charming valley until we arrive at the KWV Emporium where our gracious and impressively-informed team take us on a tour of their expansive cellars, as well as the majestic Cathedral Cellar.
We then arrive in ‘Paarl proper’ where you are let loose to explore this beautiful town. Lunch at your leisure (for your own account).
Overnight accommodation for the evening – Pontac Manor Guest House. Dinner at their famous restaurant with optional pre-dinner drinks in Duke’s Bar (for your own account).
 la Petite Ferme
Day 3 – Paarl and Franschhoek
We begin our day on Laborie Estate where we do what we have by now become so good at – tasting their award-winning wines and strolling through the estate.
Avondale, a landmark on the Paarl wine route, has earned many accolades over its first five vintages for the individual style and concentrated quality of its wines. Also a touch of organic here.
We stop off for a brief visit at the home of Franschhoek olive oil, Paddakloof, where producer takes us through his tiny production area.
We have a leisurely lunch stop at the very popular La Petite Ferme (for your own account),
We end our day with a visit to Vrede en Lust, a restored winery dating back to 1688. ‘Wines with a difference’ is how one could describe these wines, as the winemaker has produced huge yet elegant wines with his special winemaking style. You will also have the opportunity to taste ‘home-grown’ cheeses and olives.
We then head back to our hotel, with the remainder of the evening spent entirely at your leisure.
Day 4 - Franschhoek
We visit two farms owned by the legendary Rupert family - La Motte and L’Ormarins – where they will present to us the farms and their elegant fruits of the vine.
Another young and enthusiastic team greets in our day at the Grande Provence Estate where we will be honoured with a tasting of some of their innovative wines.
A light lunch follows on the estate (for your own account).
We then visit the quaint historical town of Franschhoek. You have the afternoon at your leisure to pop into the numerous shops and delis, and/or visit the monument at the end of the town.
We check in to our accommodation for the evening – Rusthof Guest House.
 Rusthof Guest
Day 5 - Hermanus
After breakfast, we head off to WalkerBay where we take a drive up the Hemel-en-AardeValley (the valley of heaven and earth) where we will stop at two of the great wineries on this pass for a wine tasting. In the winter months, we take a boat trip off Dyer’s Island to meet the whales face-to-face. In the summer, you are free to soak up the sun on the beautiful beaches. You have the rest of the day and evening at your leisure. Overnight in Hermanus – Schulphoek Guest House.

Day 6 - Stellenbosch
 Die Rusthuiz
We make our way to Stellenbosch where we start off our day with a brief tasting at a farm appropriately named “happiness” – Le Bonheur. The wines will make you ‘happy’ too!
We pop in at Vineyard Connection – a wine shop with expertise on shipping wines. Have all your questions answered and also some free sound advice!
Then it’s on to Uitkyk, with their recently renovated and ultra-modern tasting room. We will visit the historic manor house, drink their wines and relax on the lawns with a picnic (for your own account) and a game of boule (as introduced to the Cape by the French Huguenots) – all while we sip their silky smooth pot-stilled brandy.
We visit Neethlingshof Estate. This estate combines the best influences of the new world of Africa and the old world of Europe. The tasting room is one of the historic CapeDutch buildings forming a cluster in this 300-year old farmyard. A great selection of varietal wines (and blends) awaits you.
We check into our guesthouse for the evening – Rusthuiz Guest House, Stellenbosch.

Evening and dinner at your leisure.
Day 7 and 8 (Saturday and Sunday) – Cape Town
(all meals for own account)
Feel the accomplishment of having “conquered” one of Cape Town’s “Big Six” – the Winelands.
And today we tackle some of the remaining five Cape Town icons: Table Mountain, RobbenIsland, and the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront (including the Two Oceans Aquarium), rounding off with a sunset cruise in Table Bay – the very bay at which Jan van Riebeeck arrived at the Cape in 1652.
The next day we embark on a tour to Cape Point and KirstenboschNationalBotanical Gardens – with the satisfaction thereafter of knowing that we truly have seen Cape Town’s “Big Six!”
Evening and dinner at leisure for both evenings.
Day 9 – Helderberg/Stellenbosch
We head for the Helderberg once again and visit the tiny farm of Alto, followed by a visit to Longridge Winery. This wine farm commands spectacular views of False Bay and the StellenboschValley. A boutique winery with a vision to produce ultra-premium, food-friendly wines.
A little further along the valley, we visit studfarm-cum winery, Avontuur. The grapes here produce wines of exceptional quality and flavour, thanks to soils and meso-climates, combined with cool sea-breezes blowing off the nearby Atlantic. We enjoy a leaisurely lunch (for your own account) on their patio.
After lunch we visit Stellenzicht, followed by a stop-off and walkabout at Spier.
We check into our guest lodge on a wine and golfing estate, Kleine Zalze.
 Klein Zalze
Dinner is spent at your leisure.
Day 10 - Stellenbosch
We start off the day with an early cellar tour and tasting at Van Ryn Brandy Cellar.
Our next stop is the beautiful Devon Valley, where we stop off for a tasting at Sylvanvale.
The rest of the day is yours to lunch and shop and discover in the town of Stellenbosch,
We take a leisurely drive to Zevenwacht where we sample their superb wines and delicious range of cheddar cheeses.
Return to the lodge – evening and dinner spent at your leisure.
Tour ends.
